The determination of the maritime area public domain

changes in the legal boundaries regime

Abstract

This work is a study of the revision of the coastline’s boundaries consequence both of the new concepts introduced by the Act 2/2013, of 29 May and of their development by the Coasts Act General Regulation, adopted by Royal Decree 876/2014, of 10 October. To this end, the new legal concepts regarding the maritime area, the beach or the lands dedicated to marine aquaculture or salt production are studied in depth, before focusing on the legal regime applied to the lands affected by the boundaries’ revision.

Finally, the study also pays attention to the boundaries’ revision because of morphologic changes in the natural features of goods being part of the coastal public domain.
