The sense of smell face to an unpleasant smell that comes from an eventual environmental pollution, reacts as the organ alerting us of this situation. However, the regulation of this type of environmental pollution, mostly loose, is relegated to background. In large part because odor pollution, as an indicator of the air quality, is in the hands of the indeterminate legal concept of nuisance, based mainly on the hedonic tone (like or dislike) of the chemical compounds present in the ambient air, that have the characteristic of producing odor, turning the emission into an annoyance for the receiver that perceives it. The definition of atmospheric pollution leads us to the fact that the same compound can be a double pollutant, with odor pollution being, in most cases, the prelude to the harmful effect, so the importance of this regulation in the preventive phase to be posed.
