This collective work presents the results of the comparative study between Portuguese and Spanish law on green public procurement, always with the common Community reference on the horizon and paying special attention to the inclusion of environmental protection standards in public procurement, especially, in line with the provisions contained in Law 9/2017, of November 8, "on Public Sector Contracts", transposing into Spanish law the Directives of the European Parliament and of the Council 2014/23/EU and 2014/24/EU, of February 26, 2014 (hereinafter, LCSP). And, with special reference to the "environmental clauses", i.e., those provisions contained in the LCSP that go beyond the mere compliance with legal obligations in environmental matters, pursuing the increase of environmental protection standards with respect to what is established by the legal system.
