Abstract

The Spanish coast is configured by a succession of constructions that prevent distinguishing between muncipalities, since there are hardly any spaces free. In this context, the revision of the Coastal Law from the point of view of urbanism is a key matter to know the limitations that thisregulation imposes to the urban planner. After a period of vality of more than twenty years, the regulation regarding Costs has suffered some modifications, direct or indirect, so it is essential make an assessment of the achievements and deficiencies of this regulation and the actual result of its application on the coastal space.
