Abstract

In contrast to the compact composition of the previous Parliament, the result of the elections held on March 22nd, came to confirm the fragmentation of the parliamentary arch that the polls had already predicted. The irruption in the Andalusian Chamber of two new political formations - which added 24 seats (Podemos: 15; Ciudadanos: 9) - was made essentially at the expense of the Partido Popular and Izquierda Unidat, because that amount was exactly what both political groups lost in relation to with the elections of 2012 (the first one went from 50 to 33 seats, while Izquierda Unida saw the twelve that it had obtained in the previous legislature reduced to five). The PSOE, which maintained the forty-seven seats, thus obtained a clear majority in minority, but was far from reaching the absolute majority of the Chamber.

The consequences of this new parliamentary scenario were immediately felt in the same constitutive session of the Parliament - which was held on April 16th -, when the Plenary must elect the members of the Bureau (art. 33.1 RP).
