Abstract

In a plenary session held on May 2, the Andalusian Parliament approved the Proposal Reform of the Statute of Autonomy for Andalusia, that was sent to the Cortes Generales to continue its processing. Following very closely the trail of the Catalan Statute, the Parliament of Andalusia has chosen to set up a new-found Statute, rather than proceed to a mere modification of the existing one - as, for example, the statutory text already approved in relation to the Autonomous Community of Valencia-. Consequently, the Proposal implies a substantial transformation of the basic institutional rules of Andalusia from the quantitative and qualitative point of view.
