The direct participation of the promoters of the Popular Legislative Initiatives in its processing in the Autonomous Communities

The particular case of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia

Abstract

Citizen´s initiative, as a mechanism of participatory democracy, has been regulated by all the autonomous communities. These regulations have been modified in the course of time in order to reinforce them. This study focuses on one of the nuclear parts needed to bring this citizen´s initiative to fruition, that is, the petitions committee which will be able to participate directly in some of the Parliamentary Assemblies of the autonomous communities for its own defense, promotion and processing. Therefore, a comparative study of the regulation, composition and the citizens´ initiatives petitions committee duties is performed in all the autonomous communities. And finally, the individual case of the autonomous community of Andalusia is analyzed, specifically the tasks carried out by the Andalusian Chamber
